The 2023 Hurricane Season has its first system: Tropical Storm Arlene. Right now, Arlene is churning in the Gulf of Mexico with 39+ mph winds. Forecasters expect Arlene to pick up speed with heavy rain as she approaches Florida this weekend. If you live near a coastal community or know someone who does be sure you monitor the weather this weekend. Check my Blog for updates as the Arlene develops.

June 1st marked the official start of Hurricane Season. Although we have an active storm the peak of the season occurs in mid-August, which is exactly when Hurricane Katrina left catastrophic damage.
