The Atlantic Hurricane Season starts on June 1. Officials have released the list of 21 possible names for the season. The names alternate between female and male. The expected number of systems is 14 with 7 named storms and 3 major hurricanes. If the season is overactive there will be a supplemental list of storm names. Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, but it’s never too early to get ready.
Be sure to check my Blog next week for more information to get ready for hurricane season or to find out about upcoming scheduled events on my book, The Overlooked Voices of Hurricane Katrina: Mississippi Black Women Survivors Resilience and Recovery.
