National Congress of Black Women, Inc. (NCBW) invited me to give a talk to their ‘Book Club’ members on the Overlooked Voices of Hurricane Katrina: Mississippi Black Women Survivors Resilience and Recovery.  The organization was founded in by the late Dr. Mary McCloud Bethune and the late Dr.  Dorothy Height and is committed to advocate, educate, and the cultural development of African American women and their families.
We had a lively discussion about the book and the Mississippi Hurricane Katrina survivors experiences before, during, and after the disaster. Here’s an audio clip from our time together: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARBwaJkSuDQ
