The most active month of the ‘Hurricane Season’ is August. Meteorologists expect an active stretch of storms and hurricanes over the next 30 days. So far, we have had three names storms which is just above normal this early in the season. The National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is forecasting 20 names storms and they anticipate a steep increase in the number system that reach the United States thru September.

Here’s two things you can do now to get ready:  1) Find out what you need in your disaster kit by clicking this link:  https://www.ready.gov/kit   and 2) prepare your evacuation plan: https://www.ready.gov/plan
