The 2022 Hurricane Season starts soon and this year could be the seventh-straight overactive hurricane season.

In two months the 2022 Hurricane Season will begin and meteorologist point to two factors that could mean we are headed for another long season. First, forecasters believe La Niña or neutral atmospheric patterns should be in place for most of the season. Second meteorologist say that the water temperatures across vast parts of the Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, and Caribbean are warmer than average. These factors can make for a feverish hurricane season which could cause more intense storms.  I’ll share more about the 2022 Hurricane Season as officials release additional predictions in the coming weeks.

Be sure to check my Blog next week for tips on the approach of hurricane season and an update on my book, The Overlooked Voices of Hurricane Katrina: Mississippi Black Women Survivors Resilience and Recovery.
