August moves us towards the middle of the hurricane season. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) expects more activity this month. AccuWeather is projecting seven to 10 hurricanes five of which will impact America. Several systems are expected to move up the Atlantic Ocean towards the northeast. Right now, the NHC is tracking three disturbances in the Atlantic Basin that formed off the coast of Africa. One system has been upgraded and has a 70% chance of organizing and moving inland within the next 5 days. If the system strengthens, it will become a tropical storm and possibly the second hurricane of the season named Fred. Here’s what you need to do now: Track the tropical storms at the NHC website at this link  https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ . Be sure to share this blog with your friends and check back next week for more hurricane information you need to know to stay safe.
