This week’s Blog post highlights a distinguished recognition by The National Women’s Studies Association (NSWA).

My book, ‘The Overlooked Voices of Hurricane Katrina: Mississippi Black Women Survivors Resilience and Recovery’ was celebrated at the National Women Studies Association’s annual conference in Baltimore, Maryland. The book is the only single-group longitudinal study on Black women disaster survivors through the recovery stage in Ameica. Over 2000 women attended the event and the organization’s influence and outreach is international.
