Hurricane Lee is the 1st category 5 storm with wind speeds of 160 mph this season. Right now, Lee is spinning near the Caribbean islands moving west-northwest in the Atlantic Ocean and should restrengthen early next week. Forecasters anticipate a northward turn in a few days somewhere along the coastline from North Carolina to Maine. Regardless of which way Hurricane Lee moves it is certain to generate dangerous high surf, rip currents, coastal flooding, high winds near coastal areas, and possible beach erosion along the Eastern Seaboard next week. Be sure you watch the local forecast in your area for updates.
