The past year gave me a plethora of opportunities to share Mississippi Black Women Hurricane Katrina survivors’ experiences of resilience and recovery.
I was especially excited to return to my home state to participate in the Mississippi Book Festival on my Summer Book Tour. While there, I was interviewed by WJTV-TV in Jackson and on Gulfport’s WLOX-TV – Mississippi’s top TV station. Barnes and Nobles held very well attended book signings in the state’s capitol and on the gulf coast.
In Richmond Virginia, I gave the Keynote address at the African American Book Festival. Other media appearances included interviews on Good Morning Atlanta, radio stations WPFW 89.3 in DC and WPCE 95.3Norfolk. Also, I gave book talks at academic conferences at Dartmouth College, The American Intellectual History Society conference, and Howard University.
Finally, I was invited to give Zoom book talks for The Murray Center – housed at the Library of Congress, Black Scholars and Professionals (BSAP) – Intervarsity, and several Black Women’s Book Groups, especially, Ms Cleo’s Book Club – which was truly delightful!
Thanks to my publicist for working her magic!
Be sure to check back in 2023 so you can participate in exciting future events!!!
