Winter Storm Atticus is bringing snow from the western to midwestern states and rain showers in the south and northeast.  This is the first winter storm named by The Weather Channel since the naming process began in winter 2012-2013. The system covers 17 states and over 1500 miles. If you are traveling be sure you keep your eye on the weather in your area and destination city.

Be sure to check back next week to state up to date on the weather and read more about my new book, The Overlooked Voices of Hurricane Katrina: Mississippi Black Women Survivors Resilience and Recovery.
