Recently, I participated in the 2022 annual African American Intellectual History Society (AAIHS) Conference. I gave a talk on my research and book, The Overlooked Voices of Hurricane Katrina: Mississippi Black Women Survivors Resilience and Recovery. The moderator engaged me and the other scholars during the ‘question and answer’ period as seen in the photo.  I gave voice to the plight of Mississippi Black women survivors to ensure that their experiences before, during, and after Hurricane Katrina are never forgotten. My talk will appear on my website as soon as it is released by AAIHS so be sure to check back for details.

To stay informed, remember to visit my website next week as we approach the 2022 Hurricane Season for tips to keep you and your family safe.
