This week’s Blog is about my new book, The Overlooked Voices of Hurricane Katrina: The Resilience and Recovery of Mississippi Black Women! Hurricane Katrina’s damage in Mississippi was catastrophic and devastated the 80 mile oceanfront’s infrastructure. The book brings hidden Mississippi Hurricane Katrina women survivors stories to the forefront. The 15-year longitudinal study on these Mississippi women survivors’ experiences, before, during, and after Hurricane Katrina provides first-hand accounts. What’s more, this book is the only single-group study on disaster survivors through the recovery stage. Check out the VIRTUAL Book Launch in the “Events” section. This week, neither Hurricane Sam or Victor pose a threat to the U.S. See you next week for my updates on hurricanes!
