Over the weekend, I helped organized and attended my High School Reunion and it was a blast!! Afterwards, I visited my beloved Alma Mater, Jackson State University which included walking on the sacred grounds of the historic CORE office/museum on campus. Then, I helped commemorate the Mississippi 20th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina by giving a radio interview, book talk and signing at Barnes and Nobles on my book in Gulfport Mississippi. Although the Mississippi story is still overlooked by most of the national media, I will keep making sure that local folks’ stories are front and center because they are important too. Grateful.
