Tropical Storms Bret and Cindy’s simultaneous June appearance is rare. The last time two June storms, Brenda and Candy, swirled in the Atlantic Ocean was over 50 years ago in 1968. Typically, concurrent storms form during the peak of hurricane season in August or September. Forecasters don’t expect Bret nor Cindy to reach hurricane status and both storms are expected to weaken in a few.
Stormy weather moving across the country again this weekend so be sure to stay safe and check the forecast in your area.
